We have been waiting on this one patiently. It is finally here, and showing beautifully. It opens slowly to reveal a depth of fruit and spice; black cherry, cassis, red plumb, red currant, and caramel. The palate is soft, and tense at the same time, delivering red cherry, blackberry, allspice, green tobacco, and dark chocolate. The tannins are firm and nicely integrated, and carry the fruit through the palate. This is a proper Cabernet Franc, possessing all of the balance of fruits and savory details that we love in this varietal.
The “Alban” clone Grenache grown at Roblar Estate Vineyard’s ideal combination of light rocky soil and moderate climate, makes a wine of exceptionally deep color and rich structure. A small amount of Syrah was added to further accentuate the lush fruit character of this wine.
A tasting room favorite! 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Sangiovese, 9% Merlot & 9% Cabernet Franc, estate grown at Roblar Vineyards. This wine is immediately enjoyable, offering up Luxardo cherry, cassis, baking spice, and chocolate. On the palate it brings tart raspberry, spiced cranberry and forest floor. It finishes with sweet fruits, fine tannins and lingering freshness. This wine displays the best characteristics of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese.
