This wine is sweet and savory on the nose. Black cherry and strawberry jam are entwined with dried herbs and a touch of cured meat. There is alluring darkness with hints of clove and vanilla bean that give the aromas exotic lift. The wine is fresh and tense. A core of sweet red fruits and mouthwatering acidity provide flesh for dusty fine tannin that gives this wine classic structure and finish. This wine shows precise varietal character for all three parts of the blend, creating a lovely Santa Ynez version of a Super Tuscan.
Each of the varietals for this wine were fermented separately. The wines were aged for 18 moths before being blended and bottled.
