50% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 12% Petite Verdot
This wine is tremendous. The attack is intense red fruit aromas; currant, raspberry, cherry, and dew berry. Hints of cassis and dried plum are woven in with a touch of baking spice and chocolate. The wine is ripe and mouth coating. The tannins are sweet and well integrated into the fruit. Black raspberry, black berry, cherry liquor and gingersnap carry this wine through the finish.
This wine is showing very well for its young age and recent bottling date. It has a lot to offer for those who want to pop and pour, but this is also a well structured and youthful Triomphe. For those with a cellar, this wine will improve a lot over the coming months and years.
